Over the years, I found that I expanded these bite size mindfulness exercises into full-blown practices in my own life. Now I sit and meditate every morning, and try to approach life in a more mindful way.
Having purpose means to connecting with and working for something larger than yourself. It is about seeing and merging with the sacred that exists in the mundane -- exploring and knowing our individual consciousness to understand what truly matters to us.
Repeating the affirmation "progress, not perfection" will help you to create an attitudinal shift that will better equip you to accept your own limitations as well as those of your family members, friends, and coworkers.
The real challenge is to stay with mediation long enough to start noticing how incredibly engaging the process can be as whole new worlds of awareness and sensation open to us. It's anything but boring.
