AMSTERDAM (AP) — Royal Dutch Shell PLC said Monday it will no longer seek oil off the coast of Alaska this year after suffering several setbacks.
There are many questions to be asked about why our demand for hydrocarbon-based fuels is so great that we are now drilling for hydrocarbons in some of the most harsh conditions in the world.
It seems important that Shell clarifies, on the public record, these issues before a serious problem develops with its offshore exploratory drilling this summer in the Arctic Ocean.
