After you know the right people, who those people are, and have taken the time to listen to them, you can then easily transition to being understood. The key to being understood is to clearly and concisely convey what you are interested in doing.
Rather than volunteer, I wanted to try something different -- an event that would showcase an issue. One that would raise money, and, ultimately, would bring more people together to grow our budding community.
It's not just about celebrating my children, although that's definitely part of it. It's not just about being there if there is a problem, although that's part of it too. It's about something more and different.
