By all accounts, 2015 is a strong year for startup companies; I know this first hand, having worked with more than a few. When consumer confidence rises, companies seeking funding to meet those consumer needs rise as well.
These behemoths undoubtedly made a worldwide impact, but some of the biggest game changers aren't happening on a global scale. They aren't even happening in Silicon Valley. Midwestern entrepreneurs are proving a knack for finding niches and solving problems.
Four hundred plus individuals came together to hear stories of innovation from nearly 20 leading speakers, and to build lasting relationships within the regional and national community to move entrepreneurship forward.
Chicago will never and should never try to compare itself to Silicon Valley, Seattle or any of the other alleged "tech centers" throughout North America. The city's diversified economy is comprised of a completely different kind of DNA.
