My bad mood disappeared, and I thought about this phenomenon. Snow. In Buffalo. It's one of those things. Other people talk about it a lot, but I'd bet we talk about it even more, and mostly, we're complaining. But, honestly, is it really that bad?
With the regularity of a finely tuned pendulum, as soon as the temperature hits freezing this annoying species of fowl cries out with indignation that global warming must be a farce. After all, how could the world be warming if freezing temperatures are gripping most of the nation?
Look, I understand that commiserating can be healthy. I'm not even saying that comparing battle scars is a bad thing. All you have to do is watch Jaws to realize that. But once you utter those four words, you have utterly failed in being a decent human being.
I got up early as the sun came up to photograph the Upper West Side as it woke up from the much-hyped Hercules. But it appears New Yorkers weren't phased by the ominous storm. They were enjoying Central Park, commuting as usual -- and some even strapped on skis!
Tis the season to give back. Lets embrace it beyond the season, and seek every opportunity to give a little of our selves by creating a welcoming setting and cooking a meal that makes us remember our favorite food experience as a child.
