The season finale of "So You Think You Can Dance" is a black tie affair. We all gather to watch which of this year's favorite dancers will be crowned the winner, but let's take a walk down memory lane first.
Each of the four finalists -- Eliana, Chehon, Tiffany and Cyrus -- will dance five times. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't all jazzed up for this episode. Finales are like graduation night and Chrismas Eve all wrapped into one.
Turns out this episode is dedicated strictly to the fabulous works of Mia Michaels, meaning all of the choreography has been danced before on the "SYTYCD" stage, and become some of the most famous ever on the show.
Overall, it was a really strong first episode. All received good reviews, but some better than others. Now, the dancers are going to have to spend the week practicing for next week and then get eliminated? That can't be right.
The drama-level was pretty high (though not nearly as nuclear as the promos promised) and the dancers were dropping like flies almost instantly. They really got down to business, eliminating contestants from the get-go.
Leroy Martinez is exactly the reason I love this show. This big teddy bear of a guy with a big heart and big dreams showed some seriously impressive dance moves, fully stocked with back flips and head spins
Sam Lenarz's audition gave me my first set of head-to-toe goosebumps this season. Her heartbreaking backstory and her song choice were just the perfect combination to elicit a hair-raising reaction to her performance.
