The American Cancer Society (ACS) believes that the health risks of drinking soda should be viewed by U.S. health officials in the same way that they viewed the health risks of using tobacco in the 1960s.
Corporations are no longer allowed to advertise cigarettes on TV due to the potential impact it could have on our kids. When it comes to hard liquor, the government didn't ban it, the companies did it voluntarily. So, isn't it sugary sodas' turn?
Soda is not cocaine, or tobacco, but it is an at least nominally addictive substance, corrosive if not abruptly toxic to health, and devoid of any nutritional value food assistance is intended to help obtain.
