As the 4th Centenary of Shakespeare's death draws to a close I'm wondering whether humanity has really changed over the past 400 years? Is there now more happiness, fulfilment and peace on our planet? If there is, it's hard to see.
In these troubled times we need more of the third level of understanding that brings a deeper commitment to a future that is more genuinely humane, more fully inclusive, more dedicated to justice than to greed and more able to find ways to balance the needs of both nature and culture.
Just as currents tumbling down a mountain stream come together, separate, and then reunite, souls reunite in divine Oneness. Yet they do so in God's way, in God's time, not in the way or time of our worldly will.
We think a lot about how permanent tattoos are. Permanence is kind of the point when it comes to tattoos! But tattoos can also be visible or hidden. The tattoo on my left forearm reads, "No Man Shall Live for Himself." This was my second tattoo. And I keep it where I can see it.
