They are an inspiring and organized black and brown student movement going into week four of their sit in and occupation of the Florida governor's office. They are demanding changes in Florida laws which criminalize young black and brown people.
Be of service at this time. Connect with the children in your life. We cannot take for granted the time to engage with our young boys on taking positive action to mitigate how the outcome of the George Zimmerman trial may shape their life experiences.
Thanks to the Tea Party leaders who govern this state into the ground, the sorry excuse for an education in this city is little more than a prison preparatory program -- a holding pen for the state pen -- and these kids know it.
We need to admit that there are vestigial habits malingering from our history of human slavery. We need to recognize that such habits do not make their perpetrators evil, but that those habits must be brought into the daylight and gradually eradicated.
