Talk is so cheap and so inexpensive. We say things all the time that we can do or are going to do or want to do. What really matters is what we actually do and how we actually affect the lives of others.
Start taking these steps and before you realize it, you will be well on your way to doing work that gives you a deep sense of purpose and passion. You will become one of the 13 percent of people who love their work.
And even when you go off the rails a bit, which we all do, another small achievable goal will get you back on track. It makes you realize that really and truly anything is possible, even those big dreams, one small step at a time.
Running your own business is hard. I don't care what you call it -- freelancing, entrepreneurship, small business ownership. It's just hard. When you're alone in your office every day making every decision for your business, you sometimes get a bit too far into your own head.
But from time to time, I forget all that and I once again become frightened by own internal weather. My experience of the world looks all too real, and phrases like "it's just my own thinking and it will pass" seem cruel instead of comforting.
Even the smallest actions that move us closer to our goals should be taken. There are never any actions too small if they move us towards our dreams. When we align with our dreams, every step we take gets us further down the road.
Fact: That dream you dream about all of the time, the really big-ass one that would truly mean the world to you, change your life, mean that each night when you go to sleep you know you are living on purpose?
For so many of us, the fear of failure is crippling. It stands in the way of us achieving what we really want in life. With our pride at stake, many of us prefer to take the easy, safe option. Perhaps we save face. But at what cost?
What is one small thing you can to today that is aligned with your goals? What is another you can do by end the of the week? Small accomplishments lead to big accomplishments. Summer does not mean a slow down. Seize the day. Time waits for no-one.
I've realized that life really is about what we choose to make it. Ultimately, we have more power than we fully realize or appreciate, and the responsibility is only on us to take ownership of that power and to determine the trajectory we desire to be cruising along.
You don't need everything figured out. You just need to get clear on what we want, then start to walk in that direction. Independence and choice have great power and potential for you on the path of becoming your highest self. Claim your power now.
For me, embrace the chaos means: to accept the uncertainty of life and move forward anyway! Take action despite not knowing how things will turn out. To stop over-thinking, stop over-analyzing, stop trying to predict.
