I talk to Randi about what we can learn from successful education models abroad, the increasing importance of teachers having robust global and cultural competence, and how the US can do a better job supporting its teachers.
You can't put a figure on the value of sparking a child's love of reading, or making a whole room of students feel safe taking risks. But teaching is a profession, after all, and the truth is that the way we currently pay teachers in this country doesn't even come close to the true value of great teaching.
