What's the entertainment that made you who you are today? That Eagle conversation left me wanting to find more of the formative media that shaped gay men's lives. I've never read any Isherwood, and haven't seen Mame. What else have I been missing?
The mid-80s to early-90s was arguably the best era for solid television sitcoms. While my 1980 birthdate probably makes me a tad biased, no rational American can argue that this period was not the best for fictional TV lands.
I want to be excited about a new blue-collar sitcom starring Roseanne. But as it stands, I'm not optimistic. It's not that I don't have faith in Roseanne: on the contrary, I place most if not all of my faith in her. But I've been let down before.
