You know The Secret? How it became all the rage a few years ago? Well, I was way into The Secret (Abraham Hicks), and Law of Attraction way before they became famous on Oprah and housewives with bad perms picked up on it.
If I think "I am building muscle and cutting fat to 12 percent" yet I'm sitting on a couch and eating chips and guacamole (which are totally delicious), then this positive affirmation will be as substantial as a cloud. It will wisp away with the very next bite.
Now, if you do dream about actual money, that doesn't necessarily mean that you are coming into financial wealth (sorry -- don't shoot the messenger). Remember, our dreams speak in the language of symbols.
While many books and spiritual teachers have popularized the language of, "asking the universe," the truth is, it's not the universe you are asking... it's your unconscious, which is a real, active thing.
You may want a man in your life with all your heart... Yet deep inside you may be afraid of getting hurt again. This creates a tug of war inside you and the message you are sending out to the Universe becomes unclear so it can't be answered.
As with all good secrets (this short is in fact a goof on The Secret), the spiritual awakening of "The Key" lies in the experience itself -- not in some journalist telling you about it -- thus find it here for your viewing pleasure.
Let's look at "the world we've made" here in the U.S and consider that, somehow, it is exactly the product of what we've brought to life based on the energy and tone of our thoughts and intentions. Are you scoffing? Finding that ridiculous? Look a little deeper.

Wishful thinking is usually an outgrowth of a fear. People don't resort to wishful thinking because it works. They resort to wishful thinking because it allows them to avoid confronting their fear. Wishful thinking allows you to avoid discomfort, stress, change, anxiety and pressure.
If you find yourself unhappy with how you are being treated, if you feel you are always being taken for granted, used, misused, or even abused by some of the people in your life, it's time for you to do a self-check.
Despite my intention to give up self-help books, I know that it's unrealistic. It's unlikely that I'll ever feel quite good enough to relax fully into being me. It's in my nature to want to try harder, do better, be better.
