For the purposes of this article, a "pro" is someone who earns his/her primary income from writing. Toby Neal and Holly Robinson are pros (although Toby is mostly an indie and Holly mostly traditionally pubbed), with multiple novels and credits of various kinds, and they're also friends.
Like most writers, I spend hours alone and doodling on my laptop, even on Saturday nights. Until recently, I had zero interest in fist-bumping people on social media, preferring to spend my time on fiction rather than fall down virtual rabbit holes.
Most of us who are avid readers as adults probably cut our teeth on mysteries. This summer, I have devoured so many amazing mystery novels that I started analyzing why this genre appeals to me so much.
