We all know taking a vacation is important for our mental health and well-being. We need to unplug, recharge, break up the monotony of our routines and get away from it all. But, our fitness on the other hand doesn't need a vacation.
Few things foil ambitious travel plans as commonly as jet lag. Over the years, scientists have experimented with a slew of solutions to mixed results: Jet lag is, after all, a multi-faceted juggernaut that no one thing, except time, can cure.
Would you board an airplane knowing you had the flu? Would you worry about possibly infecting other passengers or airline crew? The decision whether or not to fly when you're sick is complicated because it's influenced by a number of factors.
These things aren't obvious and generally ran against my initial assumptions. If you're planning a similar trip abroad, these might save you some trouble. If you're not, they might (hopefully) whet the palate.
