Preschoolers, middle-graders, preteens and young adults may all be separated by only a few years, but are so divided by their interests, needs, humor, language and abilities as to practically be separate species.
At last, an actual television critic has said it -- this stuff that we let our kids watch is good. Or, shall I say, at last a parent has said it -- we can talk about television for toddlers without bringing up pediatric guidelines or mommy guilt.
For the last few years I've been waiting patiently for an article to be published that sings the praises of television and toddlers. However, I am beginning to realize that this article may never be written. So I decided to write it myself.
