We finished 8-4 in just our second year of existence. This program is for real and we are here to stay. However, 8-4 won't be good enough next year and we are taking that mentality into the offseason. It's time, once again, to prepare 353 days for 12 Saturdays on the gridiron.

This game wasn't just about another tally in the win column or years of bragging rights. This game was about the seniors and the fact that this would be the last time they put on the blue and orange of UTSA.

This upcoming Saturday is the last game of the season and the I-35 rivalry game against Texas State. We know what's on the line and we know what our job is.

It's easy to sit here and ramble off items in response to what motivates me, but the more important question is what allows me to be motivated. In my case, it's not what, but who.

We are fighting for life and the only way we truly live is by winning. I know that if I am going to be alive anymore, it's going to be striving for victory. Not for me, but also for my family. My team.

My teammates and I are the one percent of the one percent. We are merely one out of 124 FBS teams and one out the many UTSA ultimately will have. However, right now, we are the team.

I'm really not one to exalt moral victories, but I can't ask for more than the guy next to me to be able to look me in the eyes and know, without question, that he fought alongside me until the bitter end. That's what a team is made of and that's what Roadrunners are made of.

Diary of a College Football Player -- Week 8: Believe

Bouncing back from adversity is simple, really. All it takes is a network of people who believe and support each other. A team. We take on the San Jose State Spartans this week. They better come prepared because I am part a team that believes.

I sometimes fell short of attending church on Sundays, but I never fell short of attending games on Friday nights. Football is my religion and Ron Poe Stadium was my sanctuary.

Diary of a College Football Player -- Week 6: Don't Pinch Me, Cause I'm Awake

I always get butterflies before a game and they always disappear after the first popping of pads. This time was no different and, like always, the game turned into 100 yards and a pigskin.

Not only am I fortunate to call Eric my quarterback, but even more so to call him my friend. I feel like my job not only is to keep Eric's jersey clean and his facemask grassless but to keep him calm and put a toothy smile on his perfectly tanned face.

Diary of a College Football Player -- Week 4: Any Questions?

He asked me one simple question: "Can you block this guy?" That simple question really irritated me something awful. Looking at him with restrained contempt, I told him that I can and will get the job done. He left me with the simple phrase, "Show me."

I spit when I talk, huff when I walk and snort when I run. I haven't seen a razor in a few months, a barber in a year or a date in two. I am a football player by choice, but an offensive lineman by the grace of God.

Week 2: Sweet Home San Antonio

If the thud of the blocked field goal in last year's game haunted my once peaceful dreams, I couldn't imagine what it must have done for the guy who kicked it. This week during practice, I jokingly asked our kicker Sean if he wanted the game to come down to a field goal again. He smiled.

My goal was set from a young age: —to become a Division I football player. No questions and no exceptions. It may seem like a world of pressure to some, but for me, it was all I could think and dream about.
