President Obama is in the unenviable position of winding down his administration at the same that that two enormously important players during his presidency could potentially be running against one another. What down side would there be to stay above the fray of presidential politics and watch the Democratic primary as a neutral observer?

The State Department released them as part of the once-a-month rolling release schedule for emails generated by former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, now a Democratic presidential candidate.
The vice presidency is both a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing if you are running for your party's nomination. Then it turns into a curse when you run in the general election. Any Democrat who gets the nomination next year will face the charge that he, or she, represents a third term for Obama. With Biden, the charge will stick.
