I decided to ease into my classical adventure with the U.S. premiere of Planetarium, a collaboration between Nico Muhly, Sufjan Stevens, and Bryce Dessner, which was playing this past weekend at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
When is a person dead? This question has plagued us for thousands of years. Is there a central organ we can examine, and say that when it's nonfunctioning the person as a whole is dead? Or is there a behavior or set of behaviors that indicate with certainty that our bodies have called it quits?
Hamlet vs. Zombies offers audiences 90 minutes of inspired lunacy. I suspect this show will have a great future touring the college circuit and getting guest bookings with regional Fringe and Shakespeare festivals.
