It appears that the more people to know Mitt Romney, the less they like him. A February poll showed that 52% of Americans responded that the more they know about Romney the less they like him. The same was true for 39% of Republicans. That trend seems to be continuing.
If I were a Republican, the last thing I'd want to talk about is "class warfare." For 30 years Republicans and their Wall Street allies have conducted a sustained, effective war on the American middle class.
The Republicans thought that the budget debate would give them the high political ground. That's why they were willing to go so far out on an extremist precipice. Now the political ground is beginning to crumble -- and it's a long way down.
The financial sector does not make anything. Its goal is to take a little piece of every transaction as money flows through its hands, and in the coming days Wall Street will fight to continue this practice in its harshest form.
