The Star Spangled Banner did not become the national anthem until 1916 when President Wilson declared it by Executive Order. But it wasn't until 1931 that it became the National Anthem by Congressional resolution.
It's perfectly acceptable for groups of Americans to push the government to deal with their causes, so black leaders who want to go easy on this president because he is black are failing their constituents.
Our government is not broken; it's been bought out from under us. On the right and the left and smack across the vast middle, more and more Americans doubt representative democracy can survive the corruption of money.
