This is a major scientific breakthrough that suggests that there may yet be a positive answer to David Bowie's 1970s hit, 'Life on Mars?' Back on Earth, there's been a great deal of noise about the new Global Goals for sustainable development and water is once again a central theme.
"There is no doubt that those Martians perished while waiting to get on the ride," says professor Irwin Lafferdean of the Institute of Interplanetary Amusement. "Can even advanced species survive the quest for reasonably-priced fun for all ages? I don't know. Damn it, I just don't know."
While I'm astonished by the diversity of Earth's oceans, I'm absolutely floored when I stop to think that our beautiful blue ocean is only one of perhaps a half dozen or more oceans on other worlds in our solar system.
