Wayne Kramer is someone who's history you have to hear to believe. Having served time during what he calls "the drug wars" Wayne now works with jails in the U.S. and UK to rehabilitate prisoners through music with his organization Jail Guitar Doors.
I've grown a pretty thick skin over the years when it comes to celebrities. However it's just not that often that I find myself sitting across someone who, frankly, was a bonafide teen idol in my particular pantheon. We're talking photos stuck onto bedroom walls here.
There's historical significance for me, having taken an activist stance as a musician in 1968 to protest an illegal war; and to find myself in the same situation today, another illegal war, and to be part of a generation that says "This has to stop now."
