Nicholas Bruckman is one of four recipients of the first-ever Reach Film Fellowship, presented by Cinereach, a non-profit dedicated to fostering socially relevant film. Cinereach will premiere The Grey Movie at a New York reception on March 19th. Nicholas recently completed his first feature-length documentary, La Americana, which tells the intimate story of an illegal immigrant’s journey to save the life of her ailing daughter in Bolivia. La Americana will premiere at the 2008 Palm Beach International Film Festival and screen opening night at the London International Documentary Festival. In 2006, Nicholas graduated from the State University of New York at Purchase College, where he was manager of the college television station, PurchaseTV. He was awarded the statewide SUNY Chancellor’s award for his thesis film, Kashmir: Voices of Occupation, a documentary following victims of terrorism and state repression in the war-torn Himalayan region.
