Consider this ad running today at the top of the Drudge Report:

Paid for by the National Republican Trust PAC, a right-wing hit group, this ad shows Mohamed Atta's driver's license superimposed on a Scary Black Man shot of Barack Obama.
Really, Drudge? You accepted an ad running a picture of Obama beside the picture and name of a 9/11 hijacker?
In fear of a filibuster-proof Democratic supermajority on November 4th (apparently within reach, but I'll believe it when I see it), the right wing has gone running to the basement to dig out every knife, whip, and cudgel it can find. Mad-eyed Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann calls for a witch hunt in Congress and suggests Saul Alinsky was an anti-American radical. McCain pays for hateful phone calls implying that Obama is involved with terrorism. Armies of the gleefully hateful flock to McCain/Palin rallies, inspired to lung up all the bile that's been curdling inside them--
Vitriol of this nature isn't coming from the left. There's no tit-for-tat here. One side of this fight is without class, without integrity, without honor. If these people retain control of the government--it hardly bears thinking about.

"I am proud of the people that come to my rallies." John McCain, October 15, 2008.
I cannot believe the obvious contempt that the Republican party seems to hold for the American people. With the lies, half-truths, and fear-mongering that they believe will serve them well to hang on to power, it kind of makes you wonder who the real elitists are.
Can anyone sue over this?
McCain has really lost it. Where is his decency? This is tabloid-type stuff and has no business in a presidential campaign. McCain has become a desperate fear-monger who, along with Palin, is dividing this country even more than it is already divided. We need a president who can bring us back together. One who refuses to stoop to this level of insanity and hate. I pray with all my heart that Obama wins. The aternative will be completely devastating for our country.
Sludge report has hit an all time low. This is a blatant attempt at promoting hate and fear. I hope people wise up and stop reading his neo-con agenda driven B.S.
We travelled through Pennsylvania this spring, had a meal in an Amish style restaurant in Lancaster county. We were seated at a large table with three families. All were from that state, except we Canadians. We were talking about the Democratic primary. There was general surprise that we were following the race. I however was astounded when the ten year old boy seated beside me told me that Barack Obama is a Muslim. I said, "Oh no, that's not right. He's Christian.", and assured him that there are lots of fine Muslim people, but Obama is not one of them. He seemed to think it over, asked me how I knew. I in turn asked him where he got his facts, expecting he would say his parents. He said "My teacher tells us that he is a Muslim." How is it possible that a teacher would get away with that?
Good question. I suppose because that dolt heard on some hate radio show and no one in the school cares to challenge it -- perhaps if they've heard they also believe it.
Terrifying.
This is simply the true nature of today's GOP bubbling to the surface. Sadly, the Party of Lincoln has come to stand for intolerance, violence, xenophobia, homophobia, and 24-hour hate.
God help us all if these un-Americans retain control of our once-great nation.
