Dr. Nicol Turner-Lee is Vice President and Director of the Media and Technology Institute at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies in Washington, D.C. A Chicago native, she previously served as vice president for digital inclusion at One Economy Corporation in Chicago. She is co-author, with University of Illinois Professor Jon Gant, of “Government Transparency: Six Strategies for More Open and Participatory Government,” a white paper published this year by the Aspen Institute and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
