Alan Cumming: "Try Being Gay and Adopting Through the State..."

Alan Cumming appeared in Reel Pieces with Annette Insdorf on November 27, 2012. In this clip, Cumming talks about what drew him to his new film Any Day Now. As someone who feels strongly about gay rights and human rights, he found it exciting that the film could be something "people would be hopefully provoked and changed by." Cumming also points to his Scottish heritage, saying "perhaps because I'm Scottish, we have a genetic component with anything about injustice or people doing something bad to people less fortunate than ourselves...I immediately want to be part of it."

The conversation also turned to the challenges gay couples find when trying to adopt, as Cumming said "try being gay and adopting through the state system...good luck."

What do you think about the challenges gay couples face when trying to adopt. Leave a comment below?
