Nomading Film Festival: Eating Like An Egyptian In Queens (VIDEO)

Taking a trip to the Middle East for authentic kebabs or to brush up on your rusty Arabic could cost thousands. Thankfully, with its many different diverse neighborhoods, New York has an easily accessible and inexpensive alternative.

Tucked between 25th and 28th Avenues on Steinway Street in Astoria, Queens, you'll find many restaurants and shops with Middle Eastern and North African motifs. Here, you can grab a kebab, a tasty dessert and smoke some shisha in the backyard of one of the many lounges lining the boulevard and feel like you're in Morocco, Egypt or the like.

Subway: $5
Dinner: $60
Dessert: $5
Shisha: $10

Total damage: $80 (for 2!)
