Over 50 years ago, while defending the country from imminent invasion from North Korea, I served almost 4 years in the military at Scott Air Force Base, in Belleville Ill. While chasing women and drinking was not in my job description, I managed to squeeze in a substantial amount of each.

I regularly visited a variety of roadhouses where it was simple to do both. One in particular was close to my base and was named The Sinn Inn, named after the owner, Michael Sinn. Michael had a business card with his details on the front, but on the back of the card it said, "I too sir am a bullshitter, but from time to time I enjoy listening to a true professional, so please do carry on."

As my father's son, raised in the Bronx, and working in the entertainment industry, I could be a semi-professional in the bullshit (BS) business, but there was the Truth Police around, (like my then wife), and sooner or later I would be found out.

Living for the last five-and-a-half years with the Bush administration, I note that they are true professionals in the BS business. Sadly, the Truth Police, which should be ALL of the free media, are not reporting on this, or doing so minimally.

Bush says that the Democrats want to "wave the white flag of surrender" in Iraq. BS. ---Coming from an administration that took us to war for all of the wrong reasons, and has screwed up in the last 3 years, it is incredible.

Our Vice President charges the Democrats with "defeatism" in the global war on terror. BS. --He participated in taking us into a stupid war and now wants to be critical of those who want us to end it.

I also love it when a Republican accuses Democrats who support the recent Supreme Court ruling on detainees of promoting "special privileges for terrorists." BS.

The leader of the BS army, Karl Rove, accuses the Democrats of wanting to "cut and run" from Iraq while he is working hard to Swift Boat everyone and setting up lies and mischaracterizations about everything.

Apparently, the White House initiated his new offensive on national security. They recently encouraged Republicans in Congress to open a debate on Iraq, while our fearless President Bush went on a 5 hour unannounced visit to Baghdad.

I expect that this is all part of the "We will protect you from these evil people, while the Democrats will invite them to dinner" mentality.

Michael Sinn would just love all of these Republicans.
