Are you volunteering for the McCain-Palin campaign or a conservative group this weekend? We are looking for people to share their experiences out on the trail. Sign up to be one of our journal writers.

We are NOT asking you to reveal campaign secrets with us. What we want is your story -- who you are, what you do, and what you learn from your time on the trail.

We have already published more than two dozen campaign journal entries, providing our readers with first-hand glimpses into the nitty gritty of how the U.S. election process works. So far, most of our journal writers are Obama supporters, which is why we are looking for some McCain volunteers to add to our group.

To learn more about what we are looking for, see these guidelines.

Please send in your journal entry by Sunday at midnight Eastern.

Want to become a grassroots correspondent for HuffPost's OffTheBus? Sign up here to journal your experiences once a week as a McCain or Obama Volunteer.

yeah...nobody 'volunteers' for the GOP. they even pay their protesters.

this is how they keep the ones who are illiterate from going out and embarrassing them.

Wasn't it Hunter S. Thompson who said (possibly in his book on the 1972 election Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail) that the difference between traveling with the Nixon campaign versus traveling with the McGovern campaign was (and I paraphrase since I read the book some thirty plus years ago...) "like traveling with the Pope instead of the Grateful Dead?" I think that working on the McCain-Suddenly Sarah campaign would truly be "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail!"

are you kidding?
They don't use volunteers where I live--the republican party has paid workers.
I've walked by their campaign headquarters in downtown Tacoma--I have never seen it open, and they have security bars across the front as if they were afraid.

They don't have time to participate...sorry to say, but they have to spend all their time looking for real Americans to vote Republican.

Day 1: I have begun to realize that the campaign slogan "Country First" refers only to the order in which iPod playlists are organized in this campaign. No matter the intention of the final playlist, every starting song occurs in some variation of cowboy hats, bad pop lyrics, and chirpy-voiced southernors. I am not sure how this relates to the future of our nation, but I have begun to tire of Toby Keith, especially when he is intruding on my Classical Music playlist.

Republicans don't volunteer, they are DRAFTED .................... It prepares them for the inevitable draft to McCain's 100 year war.

*** WATCH Sarah Palin admit that Obama"s message was " RESONATING WELL " with Alaskans.

This was right before she was picked as McCain"s VP!

She had no problems with Obama before being picked as VP.

I really wish Governor Palin wasn't going to appear on SNL tonight because quite frankly she doesn't deserve to. She is anathema to the level of politcal consciousness which the show represents. Granted, comedy is comedy and I'm sure she'll get a good laugh. I just hope that some people in the audience have the courage to give her the boos which she deserves.

Her SNL appearance was just like her debate - empty and not 1/2 as entertaining. She embarrassed herself - and that's didn't surprise me.

New Gallup polls show that McCain is gaining in some states. We must get out, make phone calls, talk to people and tell them to vote for Barack Obama. We can't let the republicans steal this election. We must do everything we can to prevent this from happening. PLEASE...

We can not become complacent, however that being said, don't trust the Gallup poll, by election day they will have McBush ahead by at least 5 points. They are partisan and will do what they can to once again help MSM steal the election so get out and vote.

This is the worst campaign I have ever seen. It's been utterly despicable - every minute of it. The fact that Obama is forced to discuss Ayers while McCain is not questioned about Liddy, Gramm, Iran Contra, Noriega, and the Keating Five is absolutely insulting to the public.

And not a word about Todd Palin and his Alaskan secessionists - despite the fact they were formed by Voegler, who was supported by the state of Iran.

Then we have to listen to McCain prattle on about ACORN and how he's offended - after two stolen elections and years of disgusting voter suppression tactics from the right. If only the press would do their jobs.

Original Post by 1003 from West VA.

Voters choosing Obama " computer switches them McCain.

Take a look at this in West VA. People are voting for Obama and it's going to McCain. They are busy trying to steal the election, while we are distracted with everything else.

Some early W.Va. voters angry over switched votes
Jackson County touch-screens switched votes, 3 residents say

"Jackson County is a Republican county. I am a registered Republican, but I have been voting Democrat since the 1990s."

Thomas, who brought his daughter with him to the polls, said she had the same problem.

"After I finished, my daughter voted. When she pushed Obama, it went to McCain. It happened to her the same way it happened to me. If the poll worker knew that, why didn't she tell me before I even pushed the button?"

I have not seen one person campaigning for McCain. Do they exist or does a sign in the yard qualify as campaigning?
I work for the Obama campaign, Move On, the Democrats of Guilford county. I provide meals for workers, give voters rides to the polls and call people to encourage them to vote for Senator Obama. I also hand bill locations where large groups of people gather. I also allow for differing opinions from mine and let people speak.
May God bless America!
No matter what you may call him!
