WHO: Sen. John Thune, Senior Foreign Policy Advisors Randy Scheunemann and Kori Schake
WHAT: Press conference call to discuss Sen. Barack Obama's and Sen. John McCain's position on the Iranian missile test.
WHEN: Wednesday, July 9 at 2:05 p.m. EDT
SUMMARY
In this press conference call, McCain surrogates criticize Sen. Obama's stance on Iran in the wake of it's missile test earlier today. Senator John Thune (R-SD) said that the United States need to "not give unilateral concessions that undermine multilateral concessions," as he claims Obama has proposed. "The way that he has treated this issue, I think, suggests that this is an area that he has been consistently and persistently weak on," Thune said.

Randy Scheunemann and Kori Schake, McCain's senior foreign policy advisors, can't really believe Iran might be deterred from going nuclear by the US Congress labeling the Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization. If they believe that was the right course for Congress to pursue they don't realize the propaganda gold mine they are providing to Ahmadinejad and the Iranian nationalists.
