WHO: Sen. John Thune, Senior Foreign Policy Advisors Randy Scheunemann and Kori Schake
WHAT: Press conference call to discuss Sen. Barack Obama's and Sen. John McCain's position on the Iranian missile test.
WHEN: Wednesday, July 9 at 2:05 p.m. EDT
SUMMARY
In this press conference call, McCain surrogates criticize Sen. Obama's stance on Iran in the wake of it's missile test earlier today. Senator John Thune (R-SD) said that the United States need to "not give unilateral concessions that undermine multilateral concessions," as he claims Obama has proposed. "The way that he has treated this issue, I think, suggests that this is an area that he has been consistently and persistently weak on," Thune said.
