WHO: Former Congressman Rob Portman (R-OH) and Doug Holtz-Eakin, Senior Economic Policy Advisor, John McCain 2008
WHAT: Press Conference Call to discuss Barack Obama's comments on Social Security
WHEN: Friday June 13th at 2:30 PM EST

SUMMARY
Former representative Portman criticizes Senator Obama's plan to raise taxes in a "weak economy," claiming it "risks further weakening" and claiming repeatedly that the social security and dividend hikes would affect seniors in particular. Holtz-Eakin goes on to say McCain would "call on congress to protect social security and so quickly." He also describes the failure to address social security as "something that has suffered not from an analytical shortfall, but from a shortfall of political smarts and leadership." McCain's proposed solution would "not require" raising taxes, but would include privatization.
