WHO: Former CIA Director Jim Woolsey, Randy Scheunemann, Director of Foreign Policy and National Security, John McCain 2008, Kori Schake, Senior Policy Advisor, John McCain 2008
WHAT: Press conference call to discuss Senator Obama's remarks on terrorism
WHEN: Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. EDT

SUMMARY
This call attacks Sen. Obama's position on the criminal prosecution of terrorism suspects as a naive and demonstrably ineffective way of dealing with the threats posed by Islamic extremism. It includes discussions of last week's Supreme Court ruling to uphold habeas corpus for "enemy combatants" held at Guantanamo Bay, as well as FISA and illegal wiretapping. According to Scheunemann and Woolsey, Obama's stance that terrorism suspects should be tried in civilian courts would be "totally unsupportable" and significantly increase the danger of future terrorist attacks. Hear the Obama campaign's response.
