SUMMARY
This call repeats Sen. McCain's energy policy talking points, defending his proposal for a $300 million battery research and development prize incentive. Senator Kyl describes it as a "redblooded American technique for offering folks a prize to develop this and I think it will enhance the time by which this will be available" and calls Obama "Dr. No" on energy. Former CIA director Jim Woolsey says the three important considerations regarding energy policy are "our energy needs to be secure, it needs to be clean in terms of C02 emissions as well as in terms of limiting any local pollution and it needs to be affordable." He expands on the last point, however, emphasizing the national security facet.
