WHO: Doug Holtz-Eakin, Senior Policy Adviser, McCain 2008 and Jerry Hruby, Mayor of Brecksville, OH and McCain Northeast Ohio Chair
WHAT: Press conference call to discuss Sen. Barack Obama's energy policy.
WHEN: Tuesday, August 5 at 12:30 p.m. EDT

SUMMARY
McCain policy adviser Doug Holtz-Eakin criticized Sen. Barack Obama's energy policy during this press conference call. He said that Obama has refused to consider utilizing nuclear power, building more coal fired electricity plants or increasing domestic production. Whereas Obama has "aspirational goals" of building hybrid cars, "John McCain is trying to expand domestic production of oil and natural gas, shift market conditions," Holtz-Eakin said. Holtz-Eakin added that Obama's speech reveals "that either he doesn't understand the problem or that he's just not being straight with the American people."
