WHO: Rudy Giuliani, Former Mayor New York City and Randy Scheunemann, Senior Foreign Policy Adviser, McCain 2008
WHAT: Press Conference Call to discuss reports that an Obama campaign Middle East adviser was recently in Damascus for meetings with Syrian officials.
WHEN: Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. EDT

SUMMARY
Former Mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani and Senior McCain Foreign Policy Advisor Randy Scheunemann attacked former U.S. Ambassador to Israel Daniel Kurtzer's for an advising trip to Syria. Kurtzer now serves as a foreign policy advisor to the Obama Campaign. Giuliani claimed outright that Kurtzer's failure to disclose the details of the trip evidenced Sen. Obama's lack of experience in responsibly handling foreign policy negotiations. He also accused Obama of not "having passed a course in negotiation 101."

Note: Ben Smith of Politico references this call in an entry titled "Cutting off the JTA." Jewish Telegraph Authority reporter Kampeas' questions begin at 9:21, and his line abruptly drops out 11:17.

Thanks to the McCain Campaign for providing audio of this call.
