Hillary Clinton's "Experience": Singing With Sheryl Crow In Bosnia

Sen. Clinton continues to falsely claim that she has had serious experience on foreign policy matters, in order to contrast herself with Barack Obama. As part of that claim of 35 years of experience, she lumps in her years as First Lady of Arkansas and First Lady of the US. Neither position is even remotely close to providing one with executive presidential level experience, and most of the functions of that position are even more ceremonial than the traditional vice-presidential role. Her campaign produced a press release in 2007 testifying to her foreign policy savvy, a letter signed by numerous ambassadors -- every single one of them appointed by her husband when he was the president -- stating "As First Lady she worked for reconciliation in the aftermath of wars and she led humanitarian efforts for Bosnia and on behalf of Kosovar refugees."

In the picture below we see Hillary Clinton working "for reconciliation in Bosnia" by singing with Sheryl Crow.

Hillary Clinton Singing With Sheryl Crow

Now look, these were nice things she did as First Lady, but along with her other First Lady duties like reading to children, presiding over the Easter egg roll, and dressing up for state dinners -- they don't qualify one to be president.

If you want to really know what Hillary did on her trip to Kosovo (and several trips to Northern Ireland), read the information (and press clippings) at http://facts.hillaryhub.com/archive/?id=64 . Sure, this is put out by her campaign, but unless you can dispute any of these facts, you shouldn't go around writing drivel like this.

If the Clintons want to insinuate that our children will be killed in their sleep if Obama is president, then they must be prepared to be exposed. Get over it, Clintonites. Candidates that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

So who are Sinbad and Sheryl Crow campaigning for?

I think that people should be asking her what she learned from the health care plan she put together during her husbands administration and why it failed, how she's going to be able to put it together now! She failed with a democratic congress, her husband, the president didn't step in help get it passed. As to her 200,000 more jobs for upstate New York, she made that promise with a republican held congress. How was it that the Clintons lost the congress, lost control of the congress after two years, hopefully the democrats remember. I would love to have the opportunity to vote for a viable female candidate, I just don't see Hillary as that woman.

hillary is a classic case of "padding" her CV with lies . .. . proving that she is totally unfit to be president . .. her voting record speaks volume about her support for the chimp . .. .she isn't even a Democrat

Actually, Hillary wasn't really singing. She claimed the "experience" of singing by virtue of her proximity to the "other" Clinton -- in this case Chelsea!

This whole thing is taken from Susan's Rice's tidbit of information. You know, the one who is on Obama's camp. Susan Rice's role in the Clinton Adminstration was as an Assistant Secretary of Foreign relations to Africa. Her boss was M. Albright. The Senior Secretary of Foreign Affairs states Hillary's knowledge and involvement much more than one of her Assistants, an has a lot more information, formal and otherwise then Susan Rice will tell you.

Here is just one of them, straight from the mouths that were actually invovled in the Peace making in Northern Ireland.

This is from the Irish Echo:

Prominent backers cite relevant role in peace process

The criticism has been, thus far, confined to press reports and comment. None of her rivals in either her own party, or from the Republican side, have taken issue with statements made on the stump by Clinton that portray her role in securing peace in Ireland as being active and engaged and a good deal more than what Americans generally expect from a first lady.

"I am quite surprised that anyone would suggest that Hillary Clinton did not perform important foreign policy work as first lady. I can state from firsthand experience that she played a positive role for over a decade in helping to bring peace to Northern Ireland," said former SDLP leader and Nobel laureate John Hume is a statement responding to critical press reports.

"She visited Northern Ireland, met with very many people and gave very decisive support to the peace process. In private she made countless calls and contacts, speaking to leaders and opinion makers on all sides, urging them to keep moving forward," said Hume.

Anyone criticizing her foreign policy involvement should look at her very active and positive approach to Northern Ireland and speak with the people of Northern Ireland who have the highest regard for her and are very grateful for her very active support for our peace process," Hume concluded in his defense of Hillary's Irish legacy.

The former Prime Minister of N. Ireland announced on Saturday that this claim was "a wee bit silly"
I believe him over this story any day. With two conflicting points, I can only assume the former Prime Minister knows more about this claim.

Like a rusty ole gate screeching in the wind!

What has this website become - a hate clinton willing to swallow all republican bullshit or any bullshit about hillary - website.
Currently more than 90% of the articles posted in Huffpo are anti hillary in the most rabid sense. Hillary is being blamed for just everything, to the extent that even Ms. Power's faux pax on the name calling is somehow Hillary's fault.
If Hillary survives this and still comes out a winner then withstanding the republican attack machine will be a cakewalk for her.
Also all this anti hillary garbage posted on Huffpo has only worked in making me dislike Obama and his vile supporters more.

Why is it that any time any one critiques Hillary Clinton's self promotion of "35 years experience," Hillary supporters automatically dabs that a "hate Clinton." Sen Clinton has repeatedly touted her "35 years experience" which has now morphed into "life experience." Her repeated invocation of this experience is an effort to denigrate Sen. Obama. One does not necessarily be in the business of "hate clinton" to ask her to specifically account for what entails her life time experience. No one is blaming Hillary for "just everything," as you assert. For some one running to be the nominee of the Democratic party, Hillary has to answer two fundamental questions:

1. What specific crises have you managed to demonstrate that you are more qualified to be president than Senator Obama?
2. You have repeatedly taunted your "life time experience" and Senator John McCain's "lifetime experience," to be " Commander Chief", whie at thae same time denigrating Senator Obama's capability to be commander in chief. Are you suggesting to Democratic voters that, in case you are not the nominee of the Democratic party, they should vote for Senator McCain instead of your fellow Democrat, Senator Obama?

The answers are obvious to everyone except for Obama supporters. Hillary played a very active role during Bill Clinton's presidency of 8 long years which incidentally also happened to be one of the best period for Americans both economically and otherwise. Moreover she was the senator of New York, yes the very same city which had to literally rebuild itself after 9/11 since 2000 and her record my dear lad is very good.
As for her comment about McCain's experience you can take it with the same gravity as you took Obama's potshots against her on her dislikability factor being very high and hence she would loose against McCain or his various statements that Regan era was far more better than the Clinton era and so on and so forth.

Meanwhile would definitely like to point out that your "hope" and "change" candidate took quite a few liberties with truth in his autobiography. Also for a candidate who has been citing his superior judgement as his main USP, it may be worthwhile to note that his one significant decision during his senate tenure (in between his numereous indecisive presents) turned out to be the Rezko handsake which later he himself confessed was a boneheaded move. So much for superior judgement from day one.

Don't shoot the messenger. Look at the facts. If you think Hillary has experience in Foreign Policy, I am sorry to say: You have no clue what that means.

Really, "don't shoot the messager"? You want to shoot Hillary down, or anyone else that remembers what she really did.

Look, I want someone in there (white house) that understands what needs to be done and knows how to do it.

I don't want someone in there that thinks he knows, but really doesn't know...what he REALLY doesn't know.

I agree with ya Seren, Man these people have short memories. The best eight years of my life and most out theirs also and no credit. We need the Clintons in charge again, not another frat boy. I am so sick of these Obama supporters who are offering nothing and tearing down the greatest period in America since the 60's.

Its a Valid Point. People have been asking this since she decided to run. I'm sorry, but its about time someone ask themselves this basic question...

After coming home everyday and telling your spouse about your day for 8 years; Could your spouse take over your job if something happened to you?

I'd bet most people say NO.

There are three doctors in my poker group: an eye surgeon, a cardiologist and an internist. Over the years, we've spent a fair amount of time together and on one occassion, I was invited to observe an eye operation at a teaching university.

Given this "experience", under Hillary's administration, presumably I'd be deemed qualified to practice medicine.

I can't wait. Which one of you Hillary supporters would like to be my first patient? We could start with something simple -- say, a bypass.

You can call me on the red phone. Don't worry. I'll be ready on day one.

Twenty years ago, back in Ohio, there was a candidate for public office who listed, among his qualifications, that he attended a particular university. It turned out that he had been arrested for DWI and had to attend some remedial classes for DWI offenders as part of his sentence. The classes were held at this particular university.

What Hillary is doing is no different. She is resume-padding -- big time. And it is time for the mainstream media -- so cowed by her constant whining about unfair coverage -- to call her on it and turn it into the scandal it deserves to be. And they better do it now, rather than in the general election if she somehow manages to slime it away from Obama on her platform of lies.

Moose49 -YOU SAID IT!....why isn't the press going after Hillary's so called 'experience? Hillary Clinton is in the second term of her tenure as junior senator from NY. The, only elected post she has ever held.-Whatever- if she does slime her way in, I'm going to hold my nose and vote for John McCain. There is NO WAY I will vote for this calculating, self-entitled, second rate political hack.

Yet, that is her experience. She is a monstrous liar. Remember, she has claimed 'traveling to more than 80 countries on behalf of our country' part of the experience. There is a famous but ridiculous picture of her and Chelsea taking a ride on the back of an elephant. Yep, that is part of the experience. Then there is that obvious statement which she she claims to be very revolutionary--the one she made in Beijing, 'that women's rights are human rights'...as far as she is concerned, that statement qualifies as experience to be POTUS. What a crock.
