Otto Penzler is the founder of The Mysterious Bookshop and the founder of The Mysterious Press. Mr. Penzler created the publishing firms Otto Penzler Books and The Armchair Detective Library, and currently has an imprint at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, publishing such authors as Thomas H. Cook, Andrew Klavan, Thomas Perry and Joyce Carol Oates. He edited a century’s worth of noir fiction with James Ellroy, The Best American Noir of the Century, which comes out in October 2010. He lives in New York and Connecticut with his wife, Lisa.
