Pascal Lamy
Pascal Lamy has been the 5th Director General of the WTO. His appointment took effect on 1 September 2005 for a term of four years. In April of 2009, the members of the WTO re-elected Mr. Lamy for a second term of four years. He is the former European Commissioner for Trade, and advisor for the Minister of Economy and Finance, Jacques Delors (April 1981-July 1984) and Deputy Director of the Prime Minister Pierre Mauroy (1983-1984).
