Pat Lawson-Black is an Australian journalist, broadcaster, stylist and designer whose work has appeared in dozens of glossy publications including Australian Country Style & Australian Home Beautiful. A former newspaper columnist writing on Style, Fashion and Lifestyle, she now lives between New York and Melbourne, Australia, and is New York correspondent for ABC radio (Australian Broadcasting Commission).

She has written several books, designs and hand-crafts jewellery in semi-precious stones for her own label, PLB Rocks, and is in demand as The Design Doctor, re-decorating interiors in both Melbourne and New York in just a few hours by restyling the homeowner's existing furniture and artworks. "It's magic -- like shopping in your own closet - only for your house," she says.

PLB's passion is American politics -- she has campaigned enthusiastically for Barack Obama in New York and Wisconsin. She collects graffiti and adores her wonderful friends. Having been diagnosed with breast cancer in mid 2008, she is working towards setting up a foundation that puts wireless laptop computers into hospitals for the exclusive use of BC patients.
