Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Tricia spent decades navigating the ins and outs of Capitol Hill and Washington, D.C. She moved to Washington, DC in 1988, after she accepted a job as Personal Assistant to U.S. Senator John Kerry (D-Mass) and remained on his staff through his first three re-election campaigns as well as his 2004 Presidential campaign. In addition to having the privilege of closely serving the Senator and observing how his political career and stature developed over time, her experience gave her front-row exposure to our country’s legislative and political processes.

Prior to moving to Washington, Tricia worked as Administrative Aide to Ambassador Morris Abram, an established and highly revered diplomat who, after surviving a life-threatening cancer, decided to re-enter public life. Originally, Tricia’s work for the Ambassador mainly focused on managing his public appearances and balancing his many-facetted life. During this time, Ambassador Abram held many prominent political positions, including President of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. However, it was his appointment to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights that led to Tricia receiving a Schedule C appointment as Confidential Assistant to the Vice Chairman. It was this position that first inspired her to relocate to Washington, DC.

After living in Washington for several years and while working full-time in the Senate, Tricia decided to indulge her interest in studying the psychology of human behavior. She enrolled in the University of Maryland University College and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral and Social Sciences. She then attended Johns Hopkins University where she earned a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology. Upon retiring from Hill life in 2008, Tricia decided to combine her professional experience, her academic background, and personal interest in psychology and sociology into a new career and became a certified personal life coach. She began her own coaching practice, Capital LifeWorks, which she developed especially to assist Hill staffers succeed in the Hill environment.
