After angry mobs shouted "terrorist" and worse at some of his party's rallies, McCain "doubled down on the anger" (as Arianna so brilliantly put it) for the third debate. WTF?
They reap what they sow. Anger and mistrust. We need answers and solutions.
Normally I try and stay away from the cheerleading but I think a bit of cheering and highly stylize schmaltz is in order here. The candidates are SO different. One candidate makes me feel like I am a suffocating hemorrhoid at a taping of The Lawrence Welk Show (sorry Lawrence). The other makes me feel all giddy and tingly inside, like I could fly away on a magic cloud of hope and possibility. See if you can guess which one is which.
.... (that Tony Nomination wasn't wasted on this Broadway Diva).

No Country for Old Presidents.
No Country for anti Americans, i.e, McCain, Palin, Bachamann, Rove, Bush, Joe the Plummer, Mike Lunsford of Ohio, a NEWT, Limbaugh, Hannity, Brokaw, etc, etc.

so by this logic we are supposed to blame obama for that dim wit madonna placing mccains picture alongside hitlers??? most people on here are so partisan they are blinded to the faults of the candidate they support.....pathetic......that being said i luv ron paul.
What is the world is wrong with a Country that claims Christianity and hate in the same breath. ..........

Creating fear and anger is the biggest part of his “narrow-minded victory scenario”. What is truly sad is how it divides the country in a time that we need to be pulling together to make some of the most important decisions in a generation on social security, health care and the economy.
Thank you - it's sad that McCain and Palin choose to pull a country apart at this time.
O and B in 2008
The hate attacks on Obama, including the smokescreen hysteria about ACORN, are all designed to distract us from the systematic vote suppression now being used by the Gop. Most people have made up their minds. There is no way for the Gop to win, except to get rid of millions of registrations, create confusion, litigation, and fear throughout the nation. The only thing that can defeat it is a landslide. Register carefully, vote early, and demand honesty. This election could be the end of the democratic process, or a rebirth of real democracy.
I am disheartened to hear of the fear and hate expressed by so many in this presidential campaign. People I knew years ago, and some with whom I am still close, are so fearful of Obama that they have been sending me emails claiming he is the anti-Christ, that we must recapture America for Christians, and that this nation is being corrupted by Jews, Catholics, Muslims and Mormons. Thanks God people like that are in the minority, but I also fear that they have a huge impact in some areas of the nation.
So, now that the Secret Service tapes revealed that the voices said "tell him" not kill him, what oh what will you do now? Will Obama apologize to Palin for saying she should have challenged those "thugs"? No. You will all have to scurry around now to try and find something else to make McCain/Palin sound racist. You sicken me.
Come on Paul. One reporter from one newspaper covered this. There were 20 secret service people there and they did not hear "kill him".
that's one comment that was "cleared up." But do you really think that one thing gets rid of all the other things that are said at those rallies? Keep fooling yourself...
Paul, you are a genius! I love it.
The new Robo-Call from the McCain/Palin campaign would make a great intro.
Just for the record the Secret Service announced yesterday that they investigated the "kill him" incident and found the assertion that it ever happened is without merit.
If we don't want the other side to be misleading or untruthful we shouldn't be misleading or untruthful either.
Winning doesn't depend on these methods. And if it did winning wouldn't be worth it. You gotta be able to look yourself in the mirror.
Oh wait just a minute......are you now going to say that this has occurred at only one rally? There have been numerous reports. And if you doubt that McCain/Palin supporters are saying such things, just catch a utube or two. It's absolutely bone-chilling!
I haven't felt such a stirring like this in America since the 60s.
It's funny in a way... I cannot remember when just ONE Liberal Democrat has been shouted down by Conservative Republicans at a university. I can't remember ONE Liberal Democrat having food thrown at them by Conservative Republicans during a speech. I cannot remember ONE Liberal Democrat whose appearance on a radio talk-show caused a flood of e-mails and telephone calls from Conservative Republicans to try to keep him/her off the air. I cannot remember ONE Democrat having the sort of filth, lies and mean spirited attempts to assassinate a persons character as have been hurled at Sarah Palin - many of them on this post. I DO know of one other use of the mentioned techniques - in Germany during the late 1920s and early 1930s - and we all know how THAT turned out.
What are you talking about? Just because you can't remember something certainly doesn't mean it didn't happen, unless you are omniscient and know everything that has ever happened. Sarah Pa in is a hate spewing, fear mongering fanatic. No one is interested in assassinating her character. She has done quite a sufficient job of that herself. And if you can't remember "mean spirited attempts to assassinate a person's character", you need look no further than what your party is doing to Barack Obama.
Actually, some guy tried to hit Ann Coulter with a pie or something while she was spewing on stage at some college campus. Intolerance is not exclusive to the Republicans, they are just better (and more vocal) at it, as Kathleen Parker and Christopher Buckley are discovering, learning a lesson the Dixie Chicks learned years ago.
People only see the things they think they want to see.
We don't have to assassinate Palins character. All one has to do is expose the truth about her, If you consider that assassination then that says something about how much you have invested yourself emotionally and how bad you are really afraid that she is. Dems are not the ones who have 1000s of Rush Limbaughs out there spewing hatred and lies for over 25 years. Dems are not the ones who have an entire channel channeling hate and distortions and lies calling it news when it is all OPINION. Dems are by thier very ideology incapable of being nazis. Republicans are on the other hand ARE just to the left of Nazi Germany and in the last few weeks this Woman who is not a lady has been rabidly bringing the images of that period to mind. If you can't face interviews to explore your thoughts and you have no Positive solutions the all you CAN DO is ATTACK. The McCain campaign has admitted that is thier tactics now.
And YOU know it --- that is why you are trying to shift it to us. You feel threatened by being lumped with the cheering rallies in Germany so you try to shift it to us. As for all the rest of the garbage about not recalling any liberals being shouted down then you are cherry picking what to remember. A typical republican failing.
Hate is the means to start WAR, in contrast; Hope is the light of ending it...
If you believed that Bush used "FEAR" tactics to start war then you should also consider that McCain's campaign uses FEAR to get your votes. Three out of Ten people I speak to insist that Obama is musIim (though he is an American with christian beliefs, "let he that is without sin cast the first stone"-somewhere in the bible), a terriost (he has not done any terror related incidents), and are scared if he takes over as president (becaues he is black? people are scared of gangs from the early 80s?, hardcore violent rap culture mentality influencing our youth?, history of violence in Civil Rights demostrations?...family heritage and preference????). McCain's campaign seems to scare people away from Obama with manipulated truths and theories; and it is working to some degree. They seem to pray on the un-informed and lazy Americans who will not go out of their way to gather factual and truthful information. Feed them the frenzy and wet their appetite for destruction depriving them of the American morals of family, community, and Nation!
(P.S. I voted for Bush 2 terms because I did not like the cruel methods that Saddam or his sons invoked on their people, in addition we should never leave a war that does not end in peace.)
Forgive them for they Know NOT what they DO!
This is the most irresponsible and dangerous action by a party since the 1960's.
We must have MAXIMUM PROTECTION FOR OBAMA!
We must REDUCE this tension!
We must HAND McCain the BIGGEST DEFEAT in HISTORY!
Yes, Arianna is brilliant. :)
Isn't this where we come for the Hate Talk Express? I don't think I've read a single sentence or article regarding McCain. People come here to hear what they want. I'm not sure there is a place that is unbiased one can visit. Any suggestions? Should we remove "bipartisan" from our vocabulary? One of the things I've hated most about the Bush administration is the way it divided the U.S.A. into either patriots or those who were un-patriotic and then it became liberals vs conservatives. Americans were spewing hatred at each other worse than that of the actual terrorist or at least on par with them. Now that's a shame. Obama way way back in the beginning talked about unity, but that certainly isn't something I hear now from either him or supporters. It's a shame, it was a good message. It's why people fell for him in the first place.
Obama's supporters might be/are partisan and we might/are foaming at the mouth and so angry at what the McCain campaign/Repubicans are doing - BUT Obama is STILL about unity. If you watched the debate, he didn't take the bait even about Palin. If you ask any of us about Sarah and her readiness to be VP, you'll get an earful (believe me) - but he just said, the "American people will have to decide"
Just listen for a very little while from the McCain/Palin rallies and you'll hear division - it's only 'us' who love America, 'they' pal around with terrorists. And if you spend even a little time listing to Limbaugh or Hannity, you'll think we were at war with ourselves!
You obviously don't listen to his speeches, cuz in every speech he talks about how we all as americans need to work together to heal our country! He speaks to us as a whole, not red or blue! Whereas, Palin goes out and talks about how she enjoys talking to the "pro-american" part of the country. If anyone is trying to divide the country, set your sight to the Republican Party, THEY are the ones who are spewing hatred!
