A Note to Bill Clinton

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

Given that we would never have had the odious George W. Bush in the White House in the first place if it wasn't for your blow jobs, Bill, it seems obvious that you owe it to the people of this country, and especially to the parents whose kids died in the Iraq War that Gore would never have started, and to all the parents whose kids would be killed in the WarFest that would be a McCain/Palin -- sorry, Palin/McCain -- administration to do everything in your power to get Barack Obama elected.

But that's not what you're doing, Bill, and it's not going unnoticed. We see your rage, Bill, it's too huge to hide. We see that -- as Chris Rock so brilliantly pointed out -- it pains you to even speak Obama's name. We see you petulantly rooting against him even as you go through the motions of doing the barest minimum on his behalf to avoid being blamed if he loses.

You're not fooling anyone, Bill. You've gotten so caught up in yesterday that you've stopped thinking about tomorrow. You have the power to influence millions of voters and you're spitefully sitting on it. Surely you've noticed what's going on in the country. Surely you're aware of what's at stake on November 4th. This is not a game that you can afford to take your ball and go home with if you don't get to play the position you want. An Obama loss will most certainly be part of your legacy.

There's still time to fix it. How about this for an October surprise? Bill Clinton gets on the road and spends every day until the election sincerely and wholeheartedly communicating the urgency of electing Obama. You're the greatest politician of your generation, Bill. Surely you can fake enthusiasm for a month.

Oh, and stop talking about how much you like Senator McCain. Have you forgotten the vile joke he told a decade ago at your wife's and daughter's expense? Let me remind you: "Do you know why Chelsea Clinton is so ugly? She's the child of Janet Reno and Hillary Clinton." Are you saying, Bill, that you can forgive McCain for calling Chelsea "ugly" but you can't forgive Obama for defeating Hillary?

If Obama loses a close election -- one in which even one state where you could have made a difference goes for McCain because you sat home and pouted -- it will be on you. We will remember that you couldn't be bothered to rise above your petty resentments for something as trivial as saving your country from the enemies of everything you profess to believe in. We forgave you for Monica, Bill, but we won't forgive you for this.

Given that we would never have had the odious George W. Bush in the White House in the first place if it wasn't for your blow jobs, Bill, it seems obvious that you owe it to the people of this country...

This is such a vindication for all of us who were very suspicious that Hill and Bill were not playing a team game during the primary. That is, when it was obvious that Obama had won the primary --- the math, remember? - she still kept fighting him and wouldn't let up.

And of course they made comments quite favorable to McCain. They are corporate candidates all the way.

They really, really don't want Obama in the White House. They are also two sick puppies, mentally. Personality disorder, hello! Narcissitic big time. And they can't hide it very well anymore. I think they are truly dangerous to this country and our future. I hope she isn't reelected to the Senate.

Well Ole Bill was back at it this morning on the Talking Head Sunday Shows, saying how honorable McSame is blah, blah blah and then yes Barack has the potential to be a great president. Underlying text WHEN HE'S ELECTED IN 1216 (after Hillary) BUT HE"S NOT READY YET.

Could it be that Bill sees that the New Democratic/Obama Party has become an exact copy of the Republican Neo-Con Party?

You have just proven some physicists theory right. There must be unobserved dimensions, 'cause you are most certainly in one.

Can we start an e-mail campaign to Bill Clinton and DNC sending a copy of this article along with personal comments condemning Bill Clinton's BS "support" and that we will never forget if Obama does not win. I think comparing him to Nader was fantastic!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:38 AM on 09/28/2008

Right on!!! And Bill's still doing it on Meet the Press today, saying "I'll do whatever Obama asks me to do" ('and nothing more'). How's that for full-hearted support in the most important election of the century? Bill's backhanded, passive aggressive "support" is doing more damage than he is man enough to admit. He needs to have this note from Slansky pinned on his back and in his face. Bill's bitterness could cost the world a tragic Palin/McCain presidency. Forward this article to the DNC so he knows we see what he's doing and want it to stop.

Great article. More on-the-mark truth than I've read in a while.

I used to love the Clintons. I chose not to support Hillary in large part because I couldn't swallow Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton.

Bill Clinton needs to grow up and get over it. I am losing respect for him by the minute. If Obama loses in November, I will hold Bill Clinton responsible for whatever happens for the next four years and will never support Hillary if she makes another bid for the presidency.

I wonder what is going on with the Clintons. Hillary is out there for Obama and seems to be quite enthusiatic. I'm beginning to go beyond wondering if they have a pact - she acts in accordance with what is expected of a leading democrat as she needs to if she plans to run again and he acts in a way that may possibly ensure that she can run again in 2012. Hillary will be too old in eight years - she knows that and Bill knows that. Maybe her standing by her man in the Monica Lewinsky debacle was in exchange for Bill doing all he can to ensure that she becomes President.

Bill and Hillary have taken their show on the road - it is called "good cop/bad cop".

They think they are bringing down the house. What they can't see is that the reviews are panning the act.

Perhaps Bill's contempt for Obama isn't such a bad thing. It reinforces the image of 'change', and there are still many Americans -- including numerous independents whose votes will likely decide this election -- who are openly loathsome to the thought of a Clinton in the White House again.

O has made it this far without the vociferous support of Bill, I'm sure he can finish the job without his ringing endorsement as well.

I am beginning to have a more sinister view. I wonder if BillandHill are not part of the same plan as Mr.M. Sadly Mr.C. did in fact go along with the banking debacle that has been created. And, I wonder if Hill would have been the next nail in our financial coffin? While I have admired BillandHill in the past, his present behavior makes me wonder if O has messed up the big boys plans for our nation. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, because I supported Mr.C, but believe we need real change. We need O to make that change, precisely because he has not joined the Old Boys Club in DC.

At times Bill clinton seems to be campaigning for McCain.

If he really wants Obama to be elected, if he cannot say something bad about McCain, he should say nothing at all.

Excellent article Paul. Biting sarcasm where it is due. Bill's attitude is as dodgy as his hairstyle.

I joined MoveOn in '98, when it was first formed with the objective of persuading Congress to censor Bill Clinton and "Move on." I spent considerable time and money writing letters and sending emails on behalf of Clinton, even to John McCain, who not only excoriated him at the time, but later voted to remove him from office. And today, Clinton is praising McCain to high heaven. Now I know how Monica must feel.

Heck! Clinton can say the names of Sarah Palin and John McCain but all he can say about Obama is the other guy.

Is he dyslexic? Or is he now BFF with Joe Lieberman?

This man should've been censured and impeached when he was in office. I thought his recent health problems made him a changed man. But like McCain, he has become more erratic than ever.

Just as Ralph Nader was instrumental in causing GW Bush to become President in 2000, it is also possible that Bill Clinton could be responsible for John McCain becoming President in 2008.

There are moments when Clinton seems to be campaigning for McCain.

Clinton must be aware of McCain's: age, choice of a running mate ,temperament, lack of rigoorus understanding of issues and compulsive gambling.

Look, it's really pretty obvious. Both Clintons said they would walk over hot coals to make sure Obama was elected. Both have pretty much walked away - Bill especially has even been more than kind to McSame.

Bottom line: throughout this entire campaign the Clintons have squandered their relatively positive heritage and revealed themselves as petulent, power seeking frauds who could care less about the Democratic party. Make that Democrat party, Bill...

Really? When and where has Hillary been campaigning? This is a sincere question... I really have no idea how much she has been campaigning.

The fact is this: You can take the Bubba out of Arkansas, but you can't take the Bubba out of a Bubba. Bill Clinton can only be Bill Clinton; no more, no less.

Bill Clinton has sour grapes as he is beholden to all the lobbyists and business associates that were looking for open access once again into the US government - changing and manipulating the laws to suit themselves!!!
