Born and raised in Austria, Chef Peter Olsacher completed a culinary apprenticeship at the renowned Romantik Hotel Post in the city of Villach. After completing the program, he spent eight years working in various culinary positions for some of the Caribbean’s best known hotels and resorts.

Chef Olsacher joined Bahama Breeze, the largest Caribbean-inspired restaurant company in the United States, in 1997 and as the Executive Chef/Culinary Director for research and development. He is responsible for the development of new menu items and improvements to the core menu. He also manages culinary related vendor agency relationships.

Bahama Breeze is known nationally for popularizing Caribbean-inspired cuisine and has won numerous culinary awards, including “Excellent” Zagat ratings and Caribbean Culinary Federation competition first-place awards, to which Olsacher has made significant contributions.

Chef Olsacher also has won two national culinary competitions during the National ACF Conventions in Las Vegas and Washington, D.C., and was voted “Invitational Chef of the Year” at the 2000 Taste of the Caribbean event. He also received the “Master of Taste” award from Chefs in America in 2006 and the Chef of the Year Award from the Central Florida Chapter of the ACF in 2007.
