The following definitions are designed to help the reader comprehend the language usages of present-day Washington and the mainstream media:

"Realistic policies"= doing the same stupid things you did last year

"Unrealistic"= any suggestion that you not do the same stupid things you did last year

"Consistency"= doing the same stupid things you did last year

"Staying the Course"= doing the same stupid things you did last year, but making them bigger and more expensive

"Cut and run"= stop doing the same stupid things you did last year

"Maintaining credibility"= assuring foreign nations that you're going to keep on doing the same stupid things you did last year

"Standing firm"= refusing to have your opinions modified by facts

"Wishy-washy"= capable of having your opinions modified by facts

"Flip=flopping"= having your opinions modified by facts

"Strong on Defense"= responding to every problem by shooting at it

"Weak on Defense"= possessing a viable international strategy

"Evil tyrant"= an anti-American vicious dictator

"Strongman"= a pro-American vicious dictator

"Disloyal"= disagreeing with the President

"Playing politics"= disagreeing with the President

"Endangering national security"= disagreeing with the President

"Helping America win the war on terror"= agreeing with the President
