Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein is a UN Messenger of Peace and a former Goodwill Ambassador for the World Food Programme (2005 to 2007). She works on raising awareness of the Millennium Development Goals, especially those of eliminating poverty and hunger. Her commitment to humanitarian causes reflects her family legacy as the daughter of King Hussein Bin Talal of Jordan (1935-1999) and Queen Alia Al Hussein (1948-1977). She is the wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai.



Princess Haya is a founding member of the Geneva-based Global Humanitarian Forum, an organization established by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan. She also serves as chairperson for the
International Humanitarian City in Dubai, a first-of-its-kind global humanitarian hub serving local and international humanitarian organizations. In addition to her work with the UN and other humanitarian groups, Princess Haya serves on the International Olympic Committee and is president of the International Equestrian Federation. She competed in equestrian events at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
