Priyanka Kumar
Priyanka Kumar is a filmmaker and the author of the novel Take Wing and Fly Here, the first book in her trilogy about our changing relationship with the American West. She'll be talking about her writing and films at Skylight Books on Sunday November 17th, and she'll also be discussing her book and birding at The New York City Audubon Society lecture series in March 2014.

She is an award-winning writer, director and producer of the feature documentary The Song of the Little Road, about Satyajit Ray, and starring Martin Scorsese, Ismail Merchant, and Ravi Shankar. Kumar’s awards include the New Mexico/New Visions Governor’s award, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Award, and an Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences fellowship. She has taught filmmaking at UC Santa Cruz, and she lives in Santa Fe.
