NFL Player Delanie Walker Shares What Goes On During a Super Bowl Half Time in the Locker Room

Answer by Delanie Walker, NFC Champion with San Francisco 49ers (2012)

In a normal halftime, guys come in and the first thing they do is get their headphones on to start listening to a little bit of their music before we have our coaches come in from upstairs in the press box, and offense goes to one side, defense goes to one side and the coaches give us our adjustments. Every team makes changes, and then we break, and then go back to our headphones, and then we get a two minute warning, and then we go back out. Some guys stretch, some guys just listen to music.

In the Super Bowl, I didn't see anybody get their headphones on. We were down at the half, so everyone was trying to hype everyone else up: "We got this. We got to come back out and start fast. We have to be aggressive." So everyone's talking and moving around.

They have bikes in the locker room so we can keep our legs warm, so a couple of guys are on the bikes. The coaches came down and switched up the whole game plan so we sat there for 10 minutes and went over it, what we were going to differently and how.

And they had a whole buffet of food for us to snack on, so guys were making sandwiches, eating fruit, staying warm on bikes, and so on.
