No more swearing. Be a better boyfriend. Make more money... so I can give it away.

What is your New Year's resolution? Do you believe in making New Year's resolutions?

This past week, I interviewed a number of people as I searched for God at Ridgeway Shopping Center in Stamford, Connecticut. I posed two questions.

First, what would God be shopping for during this season? Second, what is your resolution for the new year?

The responses were heartfelt and uplifting. Take a few moments to view the video below and share your thoughts. More importantly, the experience awakened me to the secret for real and lasting personal change.

Every one of us wants to make an enduring impact in the world. We all want to make a difference.
Of course, God is not shopping for any material item. When answering the questions, it became clear that God is "shopping" for us to become more aware of his presence, tune into a higher spiritual frequency and serve others. The more acts of kindness we do, the more we are partners with the Almighty to uplift the world and the love and impact will spread.

When can we start? Today!

As Jewish wisdom teaches in Ethics of Our Fathers, "If not now, when?" We do not need to wait until January 1 to make a resolution to improve our lives. The choices we make today will impact our tomorrow. Greatness begins with one step and one change. If we choose today to invest in others and ignite a soul, we will be guaranteed a life of impact, inner peace and joy this coming year!
