An Open Letter to Congresswoman Yvette Clarke

It is my opinion that it will takes years to reimpose any sanctions that are lifted and that the snapback option won't work. But it is undisputed that this deal will allow billions of dollars to flow toward Iran's terror activities against the United States and Israel.

I write to you in reference to the proposed nuclear deal with Iran. A few months back, during a ride back from an important Jewish event, I had the privilege of discussing the pending deal with you in depth. I conveyed to you the community's fears that the deal will not prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear capabilities and how a bad deal will endanger the United States and our greatest ally, Israel. You assured me that Congress will have an opportunity to review the deal and reject a bad deal, and you quoted the Obama administration's statement that "no deal is better than a bad deal."

I was greatly relieved after our conversation and brought your message back to the community. Subsequently, you proved that you understand the extreme dangers of a nuclear Iran by attending Prime Minister Netanyahu's address to the United States Congress, despite pressure not to attend.

I believe, as do many in your district, that the Iranian regime cannot be trusted and, fear that the proposed deal does not prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities. It is my opinion that it will takes years to reimpose any sanctions that are lifted and that the snapback option won't work. But it is undisputed that this deal will allow billions of dollars to flow toward Iran's terror activities against the United States and Israel.

According to the Times of Israel, here is what Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on on July 18, 2015, after the deal was signed:

You heard "Death to Israel," "Death to the U.S." You could hear it. The whole nation was shaken by these slogans. It wasn't only confined to Tehran. The whole of the nation, you could hear, that was covered by this great movement. So we ask Almighty God to accept these prayers by the people of Iran.

May G-d bless you, Congresswoman Clarke, and grant you the strength and conviction to do everything is in your power to ensure that the United States does not fall prey to repeating the errors of history, and reject this deal. I hope that you continue to support the diplomatic process and urge President Obama to return to the negotiating table until a better deal can be reached.
